Cracked rim weld and refurbish
A crack in an alloy rim is not a paint job. DMR Nelspruit welds the crack, then refurbishes the diamond-cut face so the repair is not left as a raw weld.
Cracks usually start at the lip after a hard kerb, or in a spoke. Photograph the crack as well as the rest of the wheel. If the rim is bent out of shape as well as cracked, say so in the booking notes.
The weld happens at the workshop in Nelspruit (Mbombela). Collect and deliver covers the rest of South Africa. Rim repairs expanded countrywide because of popular demand. The workshop did not move.
After the weld, a diamond-cut wheel goes back through the face refurbish. A painted wheel is finished in paint instead. See painted rim repair if the wheel was never machined.
